UTICA, N.Y. -- A Utica man is charged with killing his aunt, uncle and sister early last month. He told police he killed them because they were possessed by the devil, according to local media reports.Paul Bumbolo, 21, told police that while stabbing his sister Cindy Golden, 23, to death on Jan. 7, he could "hear a weird noise come out of her body" and explained to police that "it was her devil soul. The devil was in her," according to court documents obtained by the media.
He went on to say that when he killed Golden, he "had to do it quickly and painless for her," the Observer-Dispatch reported.
Bumbolo told police that his aunt and adoptive mother, Michele Bumbolo, 63, and his uncle, Michael Bumbolo, 60, "had the devil inside them" and they were "cursed."
He made the statements to a corrections officer at the Oneida County jail.
He's pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murder, local media has reported.
